Emailing A Picture in iPhoto
If you want to email a photo that you have in iPhoto, there are 2 ways to go about that. The first way is the easiest way if you have your email address set up in Apple’s Mail program. If you do, simply select the picture that you want to email and go to the Share menu, then choose Email. The next window that you see is going to ask you how large you want the picture to be. When you take a picture with your digital camera, chances are that it’s going to be a large file size. This is great for printing, but not so great for just viewing a picture in an email. So, if you just want the person to view the picture in their email, choose small, medium or large. If you want the person to be able to print the picture then you want to send them the full size file. After you make your selection, click Compose. iPhoto will then export your image, open the Mail program and insert the photo in an email for you! The second way to email a photo is for people who want to use an email other than one in the Mail program, like just through a web browser. For this scenario, select the photo that you want to email and go to the Share menu and then choose Export. Next you will see a window where you can select the size of your image. You’ll want to apply the same principles as the 1st scenario and scale the image down if it’s just for viewing. Once you have selected your size, click on Export. Next you will need to tell the computer where to put the picture. generally, I like to put it on the desktop so it’s easy to find. Once the picture has been exported, go ahead and go to your email. Compose a new message and select Attach, then find the photo on your desktop and select it. Your email will upload it to the message and then you are ready to send it! Once you have sent your email, it’s ok to trash the picture file that you put on the desktop. This will not delete or alter your original photo at all. Happy photo emailing!
