Understanding the Dashboard
The Dashboard is a fun application that uses small programs called “widgets.” There are a ton of uses such as a calculator, weather report, dictionary, movie times, etc. The purpose of the dashboard is to speed up common everyday tasks. To get to the dashboard simply go to the dashboard icon on your dock, click once and you can see that your normal screen is grayed out and the little widgets appear. To close the dashboard simply click anywhere on your desktop or the grayed out part and the widgets disappear. To change the widgets open them up, click on the big plus sign on the left and now you can make changes to your widgets, and add or delete them. Simply click on the little circles with an x to delete a widget. To add a widget, simply click on the one you want and it appears. You can click and drag it to position it where you would like. You can also do that with the existing widgets. When you are done adding widgets simply click on the circle with the x on the bottom left and you are taken back to the dashboard.
